The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will contribute to the international efforts to clean up the Lake of Bizerte in Tunisia through a loan of € 20 million and technical assistance to expand and upgrade the sewerage network in the region of Bizerte and finance the rehabilitation of three sewage treatment plants located at the lake.
The signing ceremony of the guarantee agreement and the loan agreement of the “Bizerte Lake” project between the EBRD and Tunisia’s ONAS, will be signed on Thursday, September 4 in Tunis, in the presence of Yassine Brahim, Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, Nejib Derouiche, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, and Hildegard Gacek, Managing Director for the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean (SEMED region).
