Tunisia: EIB provides €45 million to TRANSTU

Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Ricardo Mourinho Felix and CEO of TRANSTU Moez Ben Salem, on Monday, signed a new financing contract for an amount of €45 million, for the renewal of the fleet of the TGM railroad line.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Minister of Economy and Planning Samir Saied, and Minister of Transport Rabii Majidi.

This operation will allow TRANSTU to acquire 18 new train sets and equipment for the TGM railway line.

As the European Climate Bank, we are pleased to support Tunisia in its energy transition and thus invest in projects that promote sustainable urban mobility”, said the EIB Vice President.

The EIB will also continue to prioritize the financing of social infrastructure to help improve the quality of life of Tunisians.
