Tunisia: energy deficit reaches 5.6 billion dinars at end of November

Tunisia faces a serious energy deficit. It reached more than 5.6 billion dinars at the end of last November, against 3.8 billion a year earlier, representing 32.4% of the total deficit of the country’s trade balance.

The energy balance, whose deficit has become structural and exorbitant, may exceed 6 billion dinars throughout the year 2018, i.e. a historic record.

The outlook looks dark with continuing growth in energy consumption combined with a decline in domestic production
