Tunisia: fall in industrial investment in Sfax, Jendouba, Sidi Bouzid and Siliana

Industrial investment reported in regional development areas declined by 16.3%, reaching 1,135.8 MD, during the first 9 months of 2012, against 1356.9 MD during the same period of the last year, said a recent newsletter from the API.

The share of these areas in all governorates declined from 56.6% to 41.2% during the first nine months of 2012.

The decrease is mainly attributable to the Governorate of Sfax whose investments reported in regional development zones reached 34.7 MTD against 163.9 MTD, during the same period of 2012.

This decrease is attributable also to lower investments reported in the governorates of Jendouba (49.9 MTD) and Sidi Bouzid (44.6 MTD) and Siliana (39.5 MD).
