Tunisia: FDI edges up 36.9% at end of July

The flow of foreign investment reached 1,383.9 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) at the end of July 2015, up 36.9% compared to the same period of 2014, according to the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA).

This flow is distributed at a rate of 1,135.6 MTD in foreign direct investment (+ 20.9% compared to 2014) and 248.3 MTD in portfolio (+ 244.3%).

The sectoral breakdown highlights the growth of investment in the field of energy by 48.7%, to 670 MTD and those industrial by 12.3%, reaching 310.3 MTD, the source said.

However, investments in services plummeted 28.4% to 152 MTD while the amount of agricultural investment remains insignificant (3.3 MTD).
