Tunisia, first southern Mediterranean member of EBRD

Tunisia has become full member of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Tunisia is the first country in the Southern Mediterranean to reach this status and sees in this new capacity the prospect of being able to benefit from more investment.

According to Tunisian government sources, the success of the transition process is behind this membership.

Tunisia joined the EBRD in December 2011. An office of the Bank was opened in Tunis in 2013. The EBRD, which has 65 members, funds projects related to regional development.
