Tunisia: foreign currency reserves decrease by 2 days, refinancing needs increase 815 MD

The refinancing needs of Tunisian banks by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) have increased by 815 MD in one week, according to data from the BCT.

They therefore rose from 8.507 billion dinars as of October 22, 2020, to 9.322 billion dinars as of November 3, 2020.

On the other hand, the Tunisian financial center always remained quite liquid. Indeed, according to the same source, the mass of currency and bills in circulation always exceeded 15 billion TND, and even increased by 15 MDT from one period to another.

Foreign exchange reserves decreased by two days of import equivalent. They went down from 21.332 billion TD representing 145 days of imports, to 21.043 billion TD, accounting for 143 days of imports.
