Tunisia: foreign investment edges up 60.7%

The flow of foreign investment has reached the amount of 1,234.7 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) at the end of June 2015, increasing by 60.7% compared to the first six months of 2014, according to latest statistics published by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA).

This flow is distributed at a rate of 992.8 MTD in foreign direct investment (up 40.7%) and 242 MTD in portfolio (up 285.9% compared to 2014).

The sectoral distribution of FDI highlights as usual, the significant progress of energy investments to 570 MTD (up 56.4%), while industrial investment reached 278.2 MTD (up 16.5%).

The increase in FDI in services has reached 38% to 141.3 MD, but foreign investment in agriculture remains low and did not exceed 3.3 MTD during the first half of 2015.
