Tunisia: Growth rate for 2013 can be lowered (Minister)

The Minister of Regional Development and Planning, Jameleddine El Gharbi, announced Wednesday that “the projected growth rate for 2013 which is estimated at 4.5%, will be revised.”

Speaking at a press conference held in Tunis, Mr. Gharbi said that “the ministries of Regional Development and Planning, Finance, and those of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the Prime Ministry and the Central Bank, are currently working on the revision of the estimated growth rate for 2013, while referring to the results of 2012 and the current situation both internally and externally.

“This revision will decline,” Lamia Zribi, Director General of Estimates at the Ministry of Regional Development told TAP by phone, without giving details about the new growth rate.
