Tunisia: IFC willing to support PPPs throughout entire chain

In an exclusive statement to AfricanManager, Georges Joseph Ghorra, Resident Representative of International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank, in Tunisia said his organization is willing to support PPP (public-private partnership) projects in Tunisia from technical assistance until financing.

“We are ready to finance some projects, from technical assistance to financing (…) the budget is open and depends on the projects that will be presented to us by Tunisia,” he said.

On IFC’s areas of intervention, the official told us that he is interested in PPP projects in mainly local export production in agri-food, health and education.

Georges Joseph Ghorra welcomed the organization in Tunisia of the International PPP Forum: “It has been an opportunity to discuss Tunisia’s priorities, the projects of interest and under what conditions IFC could do offers on projects with the objective of introducing them into the call for tenders to launch from 4 to 6 calls for tenders before the end of this year “.
