Tunisia: India’s Larsen & Toubro wins STEG contract for 215 million dinars

Larsen & Toubro won the contract to reinforce the country’s south-north voltage transmission network.

Crucial for Tunisia, which ha structural deficit in the electricity sector, the project will construct a 197km long 400kV double-circuit line linking the Shira power station in the Sfax governorate in the South to Kondor in the Sousse governorate to the North.

According to the result of the tender, the contract funded by the World Bank (WB) costs 215.5 million dinars.

Larsen & Toubro is a conglomerate based in Mumbai, India and is part of the BSE Sensex stock index. It operates in more than 50 countries around the world and has a team of more than 50,000 professionals spread around the globe.

L&T’s businesses include construction, electronics, finance and industrial engineering.
