Tunisia: Inflation rate stabilizes at 4.9% in November 2025

The inflation rate stabilized at 4.9% in November 2025, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Friday.

This stability is explained by the faster increase in prices in the “Food” category (5.8% in November 2025 vs. 5.6% in October 2025) and the “Housing, Water, Gas” category (3.5% in November 2025 vs. 3.4% in October 2025).

It is also due, according to the INS, to the slower growth in prices for the “Restaurant, Cafés, and Hotels” category (6.2% in November 2025 vs. 7.5% in October 2025) and “Furniture and Household Items” (4.8% in November 2025 vs. 4.9% in October 2025).

According to INS data, the year-on-year increase in food prices is mainly due to higher prices for lamb (up 18.5%), fresh vegetables (up 15.9%), fresh fruits (up 11.5%), beef (up 10.4%), and fresh fish (up 10%).

Conversely, the prices of edible oils fell by 17.3%.

For manufactured goods, prices rose by 5%, mainly due to higher prices for clothing and footwear (up 9.2%) and household cleaning products (up 5%).

For services, prices increased by 4% year-on-year, mainly driven by higher prices in the “Restaurant, Cafés, and Hotels” category (up 6.2%).
