According to figures from the National Statistics Institute (INS) relating to the consumer price index for the month March 2016, inflation stabilized at 3.4% with a sliding -0.1% between December 2015 and March 2016.
It was at the same level in February of that year. Excluding energy, inflation was 3.6%, which shows the impact of the small decrease in fuel prices introduced recently.
Apart from the prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, inflation would have been 3.5%.
There was also a negative slide of -2.2 in telecommunication rates in the first three months in 2016 compared to the same period of 2015, as a result of competition between telephone operators.
