Tunisia: INMA Finance grants Enda Tamweel 7-million-dinar financing

INMA Finance, a private debt vehicle dedicated to Tunisian companies, and Enda Tamweel, the first microfinance institution in Tunisia, have announced the signing of a financing agreement worth 7 million dinars, intended to finance microentrepreneurs’ activity.

Enda Tamweel has been supporting the micro-credit activity in Tunisia for 30 years. It is the leading microfinance institution in the country in terms of loans, clients and branch network.

Its wide coverage of the territory and its strong presence in rural areas where access to financial services remains very low make Enda Tamweel a key player in the financial and social inclusion of disadvantaged populations and micro-entrepreneurs.

Enda Tamweel operates through a network of 104 branches covering all Tunisian governorates and 5 mobile branches. Since its creation, Enda has supported more than one million people and granted nearly 4 million loans.

The support of INMA Finance will contribute to the financing of these micro-entrepreneurs, and also contribute to the sustainability of VSEs and to job creation in a context marked by an unfavorable economic situation linked in particular to the repercussions of the Coronavirus crisis.

Mr. Mohamed Zmandar, Managing Director of Enda Tamweel said: “Today we are sealing a new partnership which, I hope, will mark the beginning of a fruitful collaboration with an actor fully committed to supporting financial and social inclusion.

This financing will help boost the economic fabric by stimulating job creation and encouraging self-entrepreneurs, particularly women and young people. In a context where the effects of the health crisis are still being felt, this agreement can only increase our proximity to populations that do not have access to financing. “

Ms. Fatma Merai, General Manager of INMA Finance added: “We are proud to participate in the financing of the leading microfinance player in the country. We support Enda Tamweel’s social mission and we salute its circle of financial inclusion, entrepreneurship and job creation which are perfectly in line with INMA Finance’s strategy.

We expect this to be the first in a series of financing that will be followed by other financial agreements in the future, as part of a sustainable collaboration. “
