Tunisia: investments mobilized by end September up 56%

41 investment projects have been reported in the first nine months of 2020, mobilizing a total investment of about 1.8 billion dinars, up increase of 56% compared to September 2019, according to indicators published the Tunisia Investment Authority (TIA) Monday.

These projects will generate nearly 11,700 new jobs, compared to a little more than 8200 jobs during the same period of the past year, which corresponds to an increase of 42%, it added.

It specified that 56% of these projects provide for the creation of new companies, 39% concern extensions to be launched, while 5% are project renewals.

The largest share of these investments will be directed towards industrial (43%) and energy projects (28%).

Tourism and service projects will account for 16% and 13% of investments respectively.

Still according to the TIA, the regions of Nabeul and Bizerte are at the top of the list of beneficiary governorates of these projects with investments of about 244 million dinars (MD) and 225 MD respectively.

At the bottom of the list are the governorates of Gafsa (40 MD) and Mahdia (20 MD).
