Japan has given a donation for the creation of an Agricultural Training and Support Center for Women in Bargou (Siliana).
The signing ceremony of the grant agreement was held on Monday, September 30, 2019, at the Agricultural Training Center in Bargou, in the presence of the governor of Siliana, Abderrazak Dekhil and Japanese Ambassador to Tunisia, Shinsuke Shimizu.
This donation will enable about 160 women per year to receive agricultural training in processing agricultural products such as cheese, jams, fruit juice, vinegars, distillation of aromatic and medicinal plants and seed press which are the specialties of the region.
This project will also contribute to lowering the unemployment rate and increasing the income of women in the region.
Japan strongly believes that women have great potential in society. It is essential to create an environment where women can show and fully exercise their capacity and talent, making society more dynamic and the economy growing.
