Tunisia: large German delegation exploring partnership opportunities

A Bavarian economic delegation is visiting Tunisia from September 28 to 30 2016. Led by Franz Josef Pschierer, State Secretary in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Prof. Randolf Rodenstock, Vice President of the German- Arab Friendship Associations, twenty representatives of companies from various sectors probe, is exploring for three days the potential opportunities for cooperation and investment in Tunisia.

The program includes B2B meetings, visit to a German company in Tunis and meetings with Hela Cheikhrouhou, Minister of Energy and Mining, Fadhel Abdelkefi, Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, Zied Ladhari, Minister of Trade and Industry and Imed Hammami, Minister of Employment and vocational Training.

Mr. Raouf Ben Debba, president of AHK Tunisia said the arrival of such a large business delegation sends a key message to Tunisia.

State Secretary Franz Josef Pschierer described Tunisia as an important partner for Bavaria, “We are closely linked to Tunisia, whether as sales and supply market or as an investment destination.

Tunisia has considerable potential and contractors should explore opportunities for cooperation. “Figures confirm it: last year, exports from Bavaria to Tunisia amounted to approximately € 210 million. In return, imports amounted to about 500 million in the same period.
