Tunisia: Launch of center specializing in cyber security

According to the website of the Canadian organization Alternatives, a center specializing in cyber security in the Maghreb and the Middle East center has been launched in Tunis.

This center will help civil society organizations, journalists, bloggers and defenders of human rights to circumvent censorship and protect digital communications and anonymity.

The center is the first step in a project to support the right to freedom of expression and opinion in the Maghreb and Mashreq countries with the cooperation of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR).

The project also includes training programs for defenders of human rights in cyber security, digital rights and issues related to the Internet.

Support will also be provided to national, regional and international campaigns to strengthen freedom of expression and assembly in countries of the Arab region.
