Tunisia: Launch of tourist satisfaction survey

A survey on tourist satisfaction with Tunisia’s tourist product for the 2024 high season has just been launched, according to Tourism Minister Mohamed Moez Belhassine.

Speaking on Wednesday at the regular meeting of the joint working group in charge of monitoring the 2024 summer tourist season, the minister said that a sample of tourists of various foreign nationalities, as well as Tunisians living abroad, would be interviewed in the boarding areas of Tunis-Carthage, Enfidha, Monastir and Djerba-Zarzis airports, at the port of La Goulette and at land border crossings with Algeria and Libya.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Tourism on Wednesday, the aim is to gather the opinions and expectations of tourists and improve the quality of the services provided.

On this occasion, the Minister took note of the progress made in the implementation of the various measures taken to ensure the smooth running of the summer tourist season, in particular the cleaning operations, the reinforcement of the security system, the self-protection of tourist establishments, the improvement of services at border crossings, and other measures.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss a series of programs and initiatives launched by the Ministry of Tourism, in coordination with the parties concerned, to improve the quality of tourist services, including the improvement of services at border crossings and the intensification of inspection and control campaigns in tourist establishments.

In July, some 1,076 inspections were carried out in various hotels, tourist restaurants and travel agencies.

The inspections focused on the quality of services, the self-protection system, safety and hygiene conditions, swimming pools, water treatment centers, the tourist environment, excursions and tourist guides.

The Minister of Tourism stressed the need for continuous coordination and communication between ministries, institutions and professionals in order to guarantee efficiency and ensure immediate and continuous intervention.
