The value added tax (VAT) is reduced to 12% for low-voltage electricity consumption for domestic use, and low and medium voltage electricity used in pumping equipment for agricultural irrigation, according to a decree of the Prime Ministry published in the official gazette and dated January 1, 2013.
This reduction, which begins January 1, 2013, is valid until December 31, 2013, the statement said.
