Tunisia: more than 1,700 projects approved by the BFPME

More than 1,700 projects have been approved to date by the Small and Medium Enterprises Financing Bank (BFPME), Ammar Khalil, CEO of the bank told Africanmanger on the sidelines of a meeting that took place Saturday in Tabarka.

These projects have required an investment of more than 350 million dinars. He added that 80% of the approved projects are industrial, while 20% are agricultural.

However, the number of tourism projects financed by the bank remains very low as they have been excluded for several years and have only recently been reinstated by the bank.

Ninety million dinars have been allocated by the BFPME to finance projects in 2013.
