Tunisia: Net foreign exchange reserves at 118 days of imports as at September29

Net foreign exchange reserves exceeded TND 26.7 billion on September 29, equivalent to 118 days of imports, compared with TND 23.6 billion (111 days of imports) during the same period last year, according to monetary and financial indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

The issuing bank also reported an improvement in the Tunisian dinar’s exchange rate against the US dollar, with one USD worth TND 3.182 on September 28, 2023, compared with TND 3.332 dinars a year earlier.

The exchange rate of the dinar against the Japanese yen has also strengthened, with the value of 1,000 Japanese yen in TND falling from TND 22.786 at the end of September 2022 to TND 21.290 in recent days, while the value of the dinar against the euro has deteriorated.

The euro, which was worth TND 3.188 at the end of September 2022, is currently trading at TND 3.351.
