National crude oil production fell by 8% year-on-year to 784 kt in June 2023, with a daily average of 33,900 barrels/day, compared with 36,400 barrels/day in June 2022.
Gas production also decreased by 11% to 859 ktoe (kilotons of oil equivalent). This was due to lower production from several gas fields.
– Hasdrubal field (-4%)
– Southern commercial gas field (-36%) and Miskar field (-10%).
This fall in national production comes at a time when demand for petroleum products also fell by 4% year on year to 2,173 ktoe in June 2023. Of particular note are the falls in demand for LPG (-1%), heating oil (-26%), petrol (-5%) and diesel (-8%).
