Tunisia lost 4,319 companies and 250,000 jobs in 10 years (Tarek Cherif)

Nearly 4319 companies have shut down in Tunisia between 2005 and 2016, resulting in the loss of 250 thousand jobs (400 closures and 25 thousand jobs destroyed per year, president of the Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises (CONECT) Tarek Cherif announced on Thursday at the 2nd edition of MiQYES Health of SMEs in Tunisia”.

On another side, the President of CONECT said that many difficulties weigh heavily on the country’s economic landscape, mainly the increase in the phenomenon of the shadow economy, smuggling and slow administrative procedures.
