As of August 25, 2025, the overall filling rate of Tunisian dams stood at 30.9%, according to the latest data published Tuesday by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI).
Water reserves in these dams increased by 32.3%, reaching nearly 731 million m³, compared to 552.548 million m³ a year earlier.
Compared with the average recorded over the past three years, the increase was less significant, at around 9.5%.
As for cumulative water inflows (from September 1, 2024, to August 23, 2025), they reached 980.287 million m³, up 49% compared with the same period last year.
It should be noted that the filling rate varies from one region to another. Thus, dams in the north recorded a filling rate of 36.3%, accounting for 92% of the water reserves available in all the country’s dams.
Meanwhile, the filling levels of dams in the central region and Cap Bon were limited to 9.9% and 21.2%, respectively.
According to the ONAGRI bulletin, water inflows into the dams recorded on August 25, 2025, amounted to 0.390 million m³, while total usage stood at around 2.029 million m³.
