Tunisia: Performance agreement worth 10 million dinars to support small farmers

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries announced the signing of a performance agreement with the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS) to establish a financing line of 10 million dinars aimed at providing seasonal loans for small-scale farmers.

Eligible beneficiaries are farmers under the age of 70, with no requirement for self-financing or collateral.

The loans, set at an interest rate of 5%, are to be repaid in a single instalment by the end of the agricultural season and no later than 31 March 2027.

Under the agreement, the Ministry of Agriculture will be responsible for field visits, technical evaluation of applications, and providing support and guidance to farmers.

The BTS will carry out loan assessments in accordance with its procedures and grant final approval.
