Indeed, the production of raw phosphate reached about 700 thousand tons, compared to 800 thousand tons in the same quarter of 2019, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The average production of raw phosphate in Tunisia until 2010 was estimated at 2 million tons per quarter.

The Institute also reports a 12.4% drop in production in the oil and gas extraction sector due to a 17.1% decline in oil production in the third quarter.

As a result of these developments, the value added of the non-manufacturing sector went down by 8.6% in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the same period last year.
