Between January and February, Tunisia purchased 200,000 tons of soft and durum wheat.
The Tunisian Grain Office (OCT) “reportedly acquired around 100,000 metric tons of soft wheat and about 50,000 tons of durum wheat in an international tender on Friday,” European traders told the website Zone Bourse.
According to the same sources, soft wheat was bought at a price of $271.69 per ton, cost and freight (C&F) included, for a 25,000-ton lot. The source added that three additional shipments of 25,000 tons of soft wheat were also purchased at an average price of around $274 per ton.
Durum wheat was purchased at an average price of about $334 per ton.
Soft wheat shipments are scheduled between April 1 and May 20, 2026, while durum wheat shipments are expected between April 1 and April 30, 2026.
However, these are not the first purchases of 2026. In January, Tunisia had already bought 100,000 tons of soft wheat at the lowest price of $256.16 per ton, and 100,000 tons of durum wheat at the lowest price of $323.89 per ton.
