Tunisia raises total of 1.8 billion dinars under national borrowing

Following the closing of the third tranche of the national bond issue 2021 on November 12, 2021, the state has raised 622.5 million dinars, one and a half times the amount initially hoped for (around 400 million dinars).

Out of the 622.5 million dinars, 496 million were mobilized in the framework of underwriting syndicate. The subscriptions were made up to 85% by stock market intermediaries and 15% by banks.

Most of the underwriters leaned towards the fixed interest rate classes, accounting for 66% of the total subscriptions, compared to 34% for the variable rate classes.

The Presidential Decree No. 2021-146 of October 20, 2021, supplementing the governmental decree No. 2021-418 of June 8, 2021 relating to the setting of the conditions of issuance and repayment of the National Bond Issue 2021 has provided for each category the possibility of subscribing also to the bonds at a variable rate.

Thus, the total amount mobilized cumulated on the three tranches of the National Loan totaled 1.8 billion dinars.

the amount of the national bond therefore represents 22.2% of the total domestic borrowing of the state mobilized in 2021 (Treasury Bills, Syndicated Loans and National Borrowing) estimated at over 8.1 billion dinars.
