Tunisia: dam fill rate stands at 31.2% from September 1 to November 9

The fill rate of dams reached 31.2% in the period from September 1 to November 9, said the National Observatory of Agriculture (French: ONAGRI).

Available water resources are distributed as follows: 91.2% in the north, 3.2% in the midland and 5.6% in the Cap Bon region.

The maximum filling rate stood at 97.2% in El Moula dam, 63.7% in Sidi El Barrak dam and 63.7% in Barbara dam.

Water resources in dams reached 131.3 million cubic meters on November 9, falling drastically from an average of 221.3 million cubic meters over the last three years.

The volume of stored water totaled 722.8 million cubic meters against 897.9 million cubic meters during the same period last year. The average over the last three years was 1,153, 2 cubic meters, that is a 37.3% fall.

The volume of water stored in dams is distributed as follows: 89.3% in the north, 8.1 % in the midland and 2.6% in the Cap-Bon region.
