Tunisia ranks 4th in Africa in Digital Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Index

Tunisia secured fourth place in Africa in the 2025 ranking of the Digital Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Index, published by the Vienna Institute for Global Studies (VIGS), confirming its position as one of the continent’s key tech destinations.

This index, which covers 170 countries worldwide, is based on over 50 indicators, including the quality of digital legislation, digital skills, cybersecurity, innovation, access to funding, and infrastructure.

In Africa, South Africa leads the ranking, placing 59th globally, followed by Tunisia in 87th place worldwide, and Morocco, which ranks third in Africa and 83rd globally.

Algeria ranks tenth in Africa and 111th globally, while Senegal is 11th in Africa and 118th worldwide. Regionally, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region improved by 5.8 points, reaching 36.4 points, while Sub-Saharan Africa saw a jump from 7.9 to 13.8 points.
