Tunisia: rate of participation in strikes up 63%

The social climate was characterized in the first quarter of this year by an 11% decline at the level of strikes observed in various sectors, compared to the same period of 2012.

Similarly, the rate of participation in strikes fell to 9% against 41% in 2012.

However, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the rate of participation in strikes amounted to 63%. Add to this, the increase in the number of companies affected by strikes from 190 to 215 companies.

It is important to note that the Sfax region tops the list with 18%, followed by Ben Arous (15%) and Nabeul (9%).
