The rate of tax pressure in Tunisia stands at 24.4% of GDP at the end of the year 2020, compared to 25.4% in 2019 and 23.2% in 2018.
The supplementary finance law 2020 had projected a tax burden of 23.8%.
According to the provisional results of the execution of the state budget at the end of December 2020, the state’s own revenues stood at 30.6 billion dinars (-5.3%), of which 27.1 billion came from tax revenues (-6.1%).
As for non-tax revenues, they reached 3.5 billion dinars in 2020, almost stagnant compared to 2019, while the supplementary finance law was banking on a growth of 15% to 4 billion dinars.
