Remittances from the Tunisian diaspora continue to represent an essential source of revenue for Tunisia, with their amounts reaching 3,914 million dinars in the first half of the current year.
Remittances from Tunisians living abroad rose by 4% compared with the first six months of last year, when they totaled 3,643 million dinars, according to figures from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).
Expressed in dollars, remittances from the diaspora amounted to 1,266 million dollars (average monthly rate of the dollar = 3.0911 dinars) for the first half of the year.
Remittances from the Tunisian diaspora reached a record 2.7 billion dollars in 2022.
