Tunisia: TUNISAIR summer flights increase 17%

The number of flights scheduled by the Tunisian airline TUNISAIR for the summer of 2023 has increased by an estimated 330,000 seats, up 17% compared to 2022, announced the Ministry of Transport.

“This increase is explained by the reduction in ticket prices compared to last summer in order to meet the demand of Tunisian expatriates and travel agencies,” it said, adding that Tunisair has scheduled 14,238 flights with a total of 2 million 240,000 seats for the summer season. “The expat ticket sales campaign has been underway since December 2022.

To this end, the public carrier has launched reduced fares for the summer of 2023 to encourage passengers to plan their flights outside the high season, in addition to three promotional offers of discounted tickets in favor of expats from France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Austria, Spain and Canada, for the travel period from June 17, 2023 to August 20, 2023.

“More than 19,000 seats have been sold under these promotional offers, representing a 69% increase compared to 2022”. In order to promote Tunisian tourism, Tunisair is offering seats at a reduced price in partnership with travel agencies, enabling these agencies to propose attractive packages including the air ticket and hotel to promote Tunisia as a destination.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Transport has specified that the high fares apply only to the last seats available on each flight, in accordance with the principles of rationalization of sales.
