Tunisia: reported investments in services up 7% at end May 2021

Investments reported in services have increased by 7%, to 375.5 million dinars (MD) until end May 2021, compared with the same period in 2020.

The number of reported projects went up 4.4% to 3286 projects, which will generate 11,714 jobs (+19.5% compared to end May 2020).

According to data published by the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation, the investments reported in fully exporting services have risen by 69% to 14.2 MD.

These projects account for 4% of total reported investments. Reported investments in service activities directed to the local market have increased by 5.5%.

The Eastern region has captured 86% of investments reported in service activities during the first five months of 2021.

Finally, 93% of investments reported will be launched by Tunisians, while 3% will be initiated by foreigners and 4% will be carried out under joint projects.
