Tunisia: Egyptian’’ Amer Group’’ plans to launch $ 3 billion tourism project in Taparura

Interim Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali was informed Tuesday of an Egyptian proposal, submitted by “Amer Group” on a tourism project in Taparura worth $ 3 billion.

“Negotiations will continue with the Tunisian side regarding the project,” President of “Amer Group,” Mansour Amer, said after his meeting with the prime minister.

The project called “Porto Sfax” will house hotel units, golf courses, luxury residences, a marina, a world class health center and an international school… It should be recalled that a budget of more than 150 million dinars have been mobilized to clean Taparura about six miles off the northern coast of Sfax, heavily polluted by industrial waste.

The Taparura project is currently in the marketing phase, looking for investors for the realization of tourism, urban and development projects.

“Amer Group” is a major investor in the fields of real estate and tourism as well as in a series of resorts in Egypt (Sharm El Sheikh, Alexandria and El Ghardaqa) and in the Arab world.
