The hotel is located next to the Presidential Palace. It was named Carthage Sidi Bousaïd. It is also very close to the ancient ruins and archaeological sites of Carthage.

“We are honored to have been selected by the Tunisian Tourist Development Company to manage this incredible hotel,” said Herve Humler, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Ritz-Carlton hotel chain.

“We believe that this beautiful destination with its rich history and cultural diversity will offer our discerning customers a new unique and exciting location to explore when it will be launched in late 2014.”

For his part, Omar Jenayah, CEO of the Tunisian Tourist Development Company, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with the Ritz-Carlton hotel chain in its first project in Tunisia. The rich heritage and history of the Ritz-Carlton are well suited to the historical heritage of Tunisia. ”

Asked about the growth potential of the Ritz-Carlton in the region, Herve Humler added, “We continue to explore other opportunities and destinations in the Middle East and Africa. With the right hotel in the right places, I believe that the expansion in this region is an essential part of our future strategy. ”
