Tunisia: SANIMED almost doubles its exports in Q1

SANIMED’s turnover reached 9.1 million dinars in the first quarter of 2020, i.e. a growth of 2% compared to the same period of 2019.

The local turnover dropped from 7 million dinars on March 31, 2019 to 5.4 million dinars on March 21, 2020, a decrease of -22%.

The export turnover reached 3.6 million dinars against 1.9 million in the same period of 2019, a growth of +91%.

It should be noted that the company has a strategic stock level enabling it to satisfy export orders from the end of the lockdown period.

The Company points out that it has suspended production and sales activities since March 20, 2020 in application of the government’s decision for general lockdown as a precautionary measure against infection with the COVID-19.

This suspension will continue until May 3, 2020. The Company has taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety of its equipment and inventories.

Production in the first quarter of 2020 was down -18% compared to the same period in 2019.

The company has made investments of about 530 thousand dinars during the first quarter of 2020.

 In addition, bank commitments as of March 31, 2020 stood at 91.7 million dinars, compared to an outstanding amount of 89.3 million at the end of December 2019.
