Tunisia: SOTUMAG improves its turnover by 10% in the first quarter

The “Société Tunisienne des Marchés de Gros” (SOTUMAG) published its activity indicators for the first quarter of the current year.

These indicators posted a 9.9% growth in turnover to 3.7 million dinars, against 3.3 million at the end of March 2019.

This increase is mainly due to the rise in income from services which amounted to 2.7 million dinars compared to 2.5 million a year earlier, i.e. a growth of 5.4%. These revenues represent 73% of the company’s total turnover.

As for expenses, they went up 13.1% in the first quarter to 2.4 million dinars against 2.1 million dinars at the end of March 2019, following the increase in operating expenses by 10.6% to 2.1 million dinars, including 1.6 million dinars in personnel costs (+16.5%).

The gross margin rate went down from 29.5% at the end of March 2019 to 24.1% at the end of the first three months of the current year.
