The Rayal Dutch Shell is reported to be discussing with the Tunisian and Algerian authorities about the opportunity for exploration of shale gas deposits, according to an official source at Shell quoted by Emirati newspaper “The National.”
Shell “is discussing seriously with countries in North Africa” about the regulatory and tax regimes that could develop the natural gas trapped in rock formations, an attractive product,” Mounir Bouaziz, the Company’s Regional Vice President for Exploration and Production was reported as saying to the UAE-based newspaper “The National.”
