A shipping service will be launched soon between the port of Zarziz (southeastern coast of Tunisia) and Savona (northwest of Italy).
The announcement was made by President of the Dar Zarzis association in France, Lazhar Toumi, at press conference held on Monday in Zarzis.
Italian Maritime carrier Umberto Lozarotti emphasized said the start of this line will be in early July 2012, to ensure the return of members of the Tunisian community abroad natives of southern regions.
The Department of Transportation had agreed in principle to this project, pending the completion of a few details and the execution of works in the port of Zarzis so that it meets standards.
With the creation of this new shipping line, Tunisians from the south will no longer have to undergo the fatigues of the road, to join the north and the south of the country.
