Tunisia: slowdown in pace of outstanding bank deposits

The Executive Board of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) noted, at its meeting Monday, the sharp slowdown in the pace at which outstanding bank deposits evolved in the first eleven months of 2015 (2.6% against 7.2% a year earlier), reflecting the moderate evolution of term deposits and lower deposit certificates.

The BCT also noted a less fast growth of financing to the economy in the same period (4.9% against 7.7% in the first eleven months of 2014), in connection with the decline of short-term loans and slowing down of medium and long-term ones.
