The Modern Ceramics Company (SOMOCER), specializing in the manufacture and marketing of ceramic tiles, has just received firm orders worth €500 thousand (1.210 million dinars) for the year 2017, from French retailer Leroy Merlin.
These orders will be increased to €1 million (2.420 million dinars) in 2018, according to the Tunis Stock Exchange.
“This partnership will further improve the export sales of SOMOCER, which exceeded 6 million dinars during the first 11 months of the current year,” the company said in a statement posted to the site of the Tunis Stock Exchange Friday.
According to the same source, the conclusion of the agreement with Leroy Merlin is the result of the development strategy undertaken by SOMOCER which contributed to the improvement of quality and the reinforcement of the notoriety of its products on both local and international markets.
SOMOCER is based in the region of Menzel Hayet in Monastir. It manufactures porcelain stoneware and faience and sanitary ware (cast iron bathtub and acrylic bathtubs).
Leroy Merlin is a French company specialized in construction, DIY and gardening. It has more than 370 DIY stores in 12 countries.
