Tunisia: subscription to national bond launched

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Hakim Ben Hammouda announced that the subscription to the national bond started May 12, 2014, with the aim of raising 500 million dinars in funds to cover the financing needs of the state budget for this year.

Subscriptions will be made in subsidiaries of specialized credit institutions and brokers.

The project allows choosing between three types of subscriptions. The first allows a repayment period of 5 years for a nominal value of 10 dinars. The principal will be repaid in four installments at the rate of 5.95%.

The repayment of the second category has been established for over 7 years with a nominal value of 100 dinars. The principal will be repaid over 5 tranches at an interest rate of 6.15 %.

The period of repayment of the third category was set at 10 years, at a nominal value of 100 dinars, over 8 tranches and with an interest rate of 6.35 %.

The subscription period will run from May 12 to June 13, 2014 , and subscriptions can be terminated earlier or extended to a new date upon decision of the Minister of Economy and Finance.
