Tunisia: Sugar imports down by more than 50% (ONAGRI)

The National Agricultural Observatory (ONAGRI) announced in its latest bulletin that Tunisia’s sugar imports fell by 52.1% in February 2024 compared with the same period last year.

ONAGRI explained that sugar imports accounted for 5.6% of Tunisia’s total imports, with a value of 66.8 million dinars, compared with 139.3 million dinars in February 2023.

In terms of volume, sugar imports decreased by 63%, from 74.1 thousand tons in February 2023 to 27.4 thousand tons in February 2024.  Sugar import prices went up 29.4%.
