Tunisia: textile exports decline by 8.6%.

Tunisia’s external trade at current prices reached 15,575.5 MTD in exports and 21,941.9 MD at imports at the end of the first seven months of 2012 values, with imports continuing to grow faster than exports, at respective rates of 14.6% and 3.7% compared to the same period of 2011.

The distribution scheme shows a lower rate of growth in the offshore regime both in exports and imports.

Indeed, under this regime exports lost momentum and posted a decline of 0.9% against +18.9% during the same period of 2011. Exports of electrical industries have recorded for the first time this year, a negative trend – 0.3%. Similarly, exports of textiles, clothing and leather fell at a rate of -8.6%.
