Tunisia to host Davos Forum in December 2012 (Minister)

The next Davos World Economic Forum (WEF) will be held on December 6, 2012 in Tunisia.

An agreement was reached between the Tunisian authorities and the organizers of the World Economic Forum.

Mr. Ridha Saidi, Minister to the Prime Minister Responsible for Economic Affairs confirmed the news Wednesday, October 10, 2012, on Shems FM.

The minister added that the Forum could be held in a city in the interior of the country and the exact location depends on ongoing discussions with the organizers:

“A delegation representing the Davos Forum will arrive next week in Tunisia to establish the final schedule of this event.”

Davos brings together hundreds of business leaders but also political leaders. Forty heads of state and government are expected.

Through this important event, the country can regain its place in the concert of nations and its economic competitiveness.

Created in 1971 by Klaus Scwhab, the World Economic Forum,held annually at the heart of the Swiss Alps, brings together the global elite of businessmen, politicians and researchers around a commitment “to improve the state of the world.” The forum is a place for meetings and exchanges to measure the climate of the planet.
