Tunisia: STAR Assurances increases net profit by 50% to 32 million dinars in 2022

STAR Assurances announced that its Board of Directors, which met on March 10, 2023, reviewed the company’s activities in 2022 and approved the financial statements for the year.

These accounts show a 5% increase in written premiums to 386.2 million dinars, compared to 368.1 million in 2021. Earned premiums amounted to 381.6 million dinars, compared to 368.6 million in 2021, up 4%.

For its part, the cost of claims amounted to 283.8 million dinars at the end of 2022, compared to 276.1 million dinars a year earlier, i.e. an increase of 3%, while net investment income reached 101.4 million dinars, compared to 77.7 million dinars, or a rise of 31%.

As a result, the company made a net profit of 31.9 million dinars in 2022, compared to 21 million in 2021, an increase of approximately 51%.

The Board of Directors decided to propose the distribution of a dividend of 6.220 dinars per share, compared to 3.650 dinars last year, and to invite the company’s shareholders to an Ordinary General Meeting on 18 May 2023.
