Tunisia: UTICA ‘’disappointed’’ by Finance Act 2014

The Executive Board of UTICA, which met Monday in a periodic session, chaired by Wided Bouchammaoui, said it was disappointed by the adoption by the National Constituent Assembly of the draft Finance Act 2014.

It criticized the way the text was passed including provisions that will have a “negative impact on investment, exports and employment,” since the Finance Act did not consider the difficulties facing economic businesses.

The organization stressed that despite its efforts and its dealings with all stakeholders in the State budget and the Finance Law, the latter was up to the challenges facing the country, especially as it will create additional difficulties for legally constituted companies and has taken no action against parallel economy.

The Executive Board of UTICA called to take its proposals into account and stressed the need to carefully develop a supplementary draft budget law in the shortest possible time.
